Zodiac-JRD-MKJ Ltd. is planning to sell its office located in the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex due to high maintenance costs.
The company finds that the maintenance cost has gone up, which is affecting profitability, according to a Zodiac-JRD-MKJ statement.
Zodiac-JRD-MKJ, which is a manufacturer of cut and polished diamonds and gold jewelry, is hoping to sell the space for at least $797 (INR 40,000) per square feet.
BDB is a well-guarded facility comprising eight towers of nine floors each. The new diamond-industry headquarters was opened in October 2010 and is spread across two million square feet and houses 2,500 diamond offices of various sizes, a trading hall, customs office and restaurants.
