Zimbabwe Arrests Israeli Pilot for Smuggling

CrimeZimbabwe authorities claim that an Israeli pilot instructor, who had originally arrived in the country disguised as a South African Airways crew member, was arrested at Harare International Airport for trying to smuggle about 8,487 carats of diamonds that were valued at $2 million, all according to the state-run Herald.

The suspect was charged with unlawful possession of diamonds and entering the country on false pretenses. He was arrested on March 17 when he tried to board a South African Airways flight with the diamonds stashed away. The state determined that he did not hold a permit to deal in diamonds and had no right to evade immigration.
