Silver Jewelry Retailers Report Increase In Sales In 2011

jewelrySales of silver have seen an increase in 2011, an online survey of silver jewelry retailers reveals in the United States reveals.

According to the National Jeweler, 77% of retailers across the US said that their sales of silvery jewelry had increased last year, while 14% said the sales remained the same. Nine percent said there was a decrease in sale.

The survey involved 301 jewelry retailers who own a total of 1,800 shops in the US.

According to the National Jeweler, the average increase in silver jewelry sales last year was 22%. Still, 48% of retailers said that they saw an increase of between 11% and 25%, while 27% of retailers saw an increase of over 25%.

For the holiday season, 73% of retailers said they had sold more silver jewelry than they did during the same time last year.
