Sales of silver have seen an increase in 2011, an online survey of silver jewelry retailers reveals in the United States reveals.
According to the National Jeweler, 77% of retailers across the US said that their sales of silvery jewelry had increased last year, while 14% said the sales remained the same. Nine percent said there was a decrease in sale.
The survey involved 301 jewelry retailers who own a total of 1,800 shops in the US.
According to the National Jeweler, the average increase in silver jewelry sales last year was 22%. Still, 48% of retailers said that they saw an increase of between 11% and 25%, while 27% of retailers saw an increase of over 25%.
For the holiday season, 73% of retailers said they had sold more silver jewelry than they did during the same time last year.
