The Swiss jewellery company Shawish Jewellery, based in Geneva, unveiled the world’s first diamond ring: a 150-carat ring which has been valued at around 70 million dollar. It took more than one year to design the ring and cut it from a one single faceted diamond, and the result is beautiful!
For Mohammed Shawesh, designing a ring, made entirely form a faceted stone was a big challenge! He had the use lasers to cut through one single diamond stone that formed the whole ring structure. The specific molecular diamond structure can be tampered in the process of cutting or polishing, which made it very difficult to create this 150-carat ring. Shawesh showed us some astonishing piece of craftsmanship!
