Pear Shape Diamonds

The pear shape diamond is a very popular fancy shape diamond that has the basic aspects of the brilliant cut which has been elongated with a single point to form a teardrop. The design has great scintillation and is often though to be larger than the carat weight indicates. Although it is the most expensive of the fancy shape diamonds it is still less than the round brilliant with all of the sparkle. The pear shape diamond has a distinct feature of the lightly shaded area through the centre of the diamond called the “bow tie.” The shape of the teardrop can vary in its proportion and should be chosen with consideration of your preferred shape.
