Montblanc officially launched its e-commerce site, www.montblanc.com, which allows consumers full access to Montblanc’s product range of timepieces, writing instruments, men’s and women’s jewelry, eyewear, fragrance and leather goods. The site is linked to the Montblanc’s brand site so that consumers can learn about the brand’s history and, for the first time, purchase brand’s iconic collections. It also contains generative artwork inspired by the world of Montblanc from artists commissioned by the company.
Montblanc’s e-commerce site will feature its collection of Swiss timepieces and limited and special edition writing instruments, including the new ”Tribute to the Mont Blanc Collection,” which pays tribute to Europe’s iconic highest summit. The site’s online boutique will also feature the Diva Collection writing instruments, which includes editions from screen icons Ingrid Bergman, Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich. Also available is the John Lennon special limited edition writing instrument, with fine and silver jewelry and leather goods.
To promote the new commerce website, Montblanc will hold “The Beauty of a Second” short-film contest to celebrate the 190th anniversary of the chronograph’s invention by Nicolas Rieussec. Contestants enter by picking a one-second clip from the short film, and entering it online where people can vote for the best one-second videos.
”The launch of a transactional website is an exciting phase in Montblanc’s very long history,” said Jan-Patrick Schmitz, the chief executive of Montblanc North America. ”While our shopping experience in store remains at the core, we are thrilled to be able to offer our exciting range of products to a wider audience, while maintaining a quality shopping experience.”
