The Canadian mining group Harry Winston has announced it will be opening a retail jewelry store in Shanghai’s prestigious XinTianDi shopping district, according to IDEX Online. This will be the group’s first flagship location in China and its second store in the country.
Boasting a 12-meter, two-storey gallery over 460 square meters, the shop’s layout was designed to highlight different categories of Harry Winston products, including dedicated areas for high jewelry, bridal jewelry, and a watch salon. A smaller salon located at the Peninsula Hotel in Shanghai opened in January.
The opening comes as part of the diamond company’s continued global development strategy to expand its retail network to 50 stores over the next four years.
To celebrate the opening, The Harry Winston Hope Foundation will announce a new philanthropic program developed with the International Youth Foundation (IYF) and the China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF) to bring a life skills curriculum to schools in China for the first time.
