American tech giant Apple is looking into building a production center in Israel, as reported by Calcalist.
The company is currently in the process of building a Research and Development (R&D) center in the Haifa region, which is expected to employ over 50 hardware engineers. The activity of the Israeli R&D center will focus on developing electronic parts for Apple’s chips used in its mobile devices – the iPhone, iPad and Macbook Air.
Earlier this year Apple purchased the Israeli company Anobit for $390 million.
Apple is known to manufacture its products via external companies and is not expected to be the constructor of the Israeli production center.
