Alex and Ani, a Cranston, Rhode Island-based jewelry company, will open its tenth store, this time in Oxon Hill, Maryland, which is a suburb of Washington D.C. The eco-friednly fashion jewelry retailer opened in Cranston in 2004 and now has locations Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and Florida along with more than 700 wholesale accounts worldwide.
Additionally today, the National Retail Federation (NRF) announced that Carina Donoso, an employee with Alex and Ani, made the cut as a top 10 finalist in the NRF’s “This is Retail” video contest. NRF launched the contest as a way for retailers to show how ”Retail Means Jobs” in the U.S.
Public viewing of and voting for the top 10 videos begin April 10 at retailmeansjobs.com/vote. Donoso joins nine other finalists including Jim Adams of Falls Road Running Store, Tanna Dang of Eden in Love, Robert Houston of Anna and Eve, Susan Kaufman of Market Alley Wines, Harrison Kressler of Bookmans, Mark Plessinger of Frame of Mind, Deirdre Shaw of Monkee’s, Kim Williams of The Polka Dot Press and Julie Wurr of Heart ‘n Home to compete for the top three cash prizes.
